Starting with a blank canvas can be overwhelming. Here are 5 tips + tricks on how to make the most out of your custom art experience!
The first step is to read the room. Take a look at the architecture, lighting, furnishings, color palette and let that guide you. Snag some photos of the space while you're at it.
Don't forget to measure. Select a canvas size based on the space you have available. Mark out the size with masking tape on the four corners to give you a visual of how much space the canvas will take up! Sit with it for a day or two. If you're unsure, measure the wall you would like to fill and we can figure it out together.
Pick a color palette that works with the space. Maybe your space is stark white + minimal and you're looking to add a dose of color. Or perhaps, you have an accent color you would like to play up. Refer to my color palette for a range of options!
Style is also important. Do you like light texture or heavy texture? How about drip marks? Take a look at my style guide for help!
Collect images of paintings + artwork you love. List the elements you like and don't like about each one to hone in on what you want. If you're feeling studious, use Pinterest to create a vision board!
Art is personal and you should LOVE it. The final step is talking through everything together — your likes and dislikes, style preferences, color palette, measurements. Hand over the pictures of your space and vision board. Ask questions! From there, we'll create a solid plan of action.
After we decide on a plan and sign the agreement, it takes me about 3-6 weeks to complete the painting in most cases! While every effort is taken to meet your special requests, it is important to understand that every original piece of art I create will possess its very own uniqueness...as is the beauty of original art. After your painting is finished, I will email you several detail photos for your final approval or suggestions. You will have up to two edits to make minor adjustments at no charge.
Aside from an upfront canvas + supply fee, there is no obligation to purchase the painting if you are not satisfied with the piece. I find that unbinding the customer to the painting allows me a sense of freedom that cultivates the creative process and the quality of work is much better!

This offer is only for the month of July. Make sure to reserve your piece of custom art by putting down a supply fee by the end of the month. I can't wait to work with you!
